You are what you eat

I am currently what you call “fit”. My BMI is in the healthy zone, I grew the height I grew due to some genetics and some of the things I could control ( sleep and milk), and I would have to say some things had to suffer because of it like my eyes. But I can say that I lived an average life. I guess I was never called the “fat” kid, but no one would say I was too skinny. Just “fit”. But today, we teens have invented some words with awe-inspiring “gee-whiz” vernacular such as “slim-thick”. Is that being skinny in one area and chubby in another area? To be honest I don’t know XD. I have been out of touch with my teenage years for a while…

My family has a growing history of obesity. As far as I know, on my mother’s side, my grandmother is obese and she has diabetes. And that has been growing down and manifested into some parts of my current family. We actually eat healthily, but we can’t help to blame genetics for the reason losing weight is hard. My mother actually went off red meat for a while, exercises quite a bit, as well as tried Nutrisystem. However, nothing has actually worked. Maybe her set point that is currently being fought between her ventral and lateral hypothalamus, and unfortunately, they work too darn well together to prevent her from losing weight. Or even her metabolism is low, and I am just a lucky kid to have such a high metabolism. But nevertheless, I do still watch what I eat to accommodate my daily routine: non-existent. Yes, you heard that right. I do not really exercise that often anymore because my schedule does not allow me to do so. The school I go to is where I have to work around the clock just to maintain decent grades. Homework floods me every night, so the only time I really have for is eating! And I eat pretty healthily. I eat both pretty healthy breakfast and lunch at school, and at dinner, I either skip it, eat an at home cooked meal, or eat healthy outside food such as grilled chicken from Chick-fil-a or Chipotle. It costs quite a bit to live this healthy lifestyle, but I feel that it is necessary and I am capable to live it because of the necessities I had to give up. I am do not actively shop, or go out that much, or even spend money on random miscellaneous things. I use the money to primarily buy healthy organic( if possible) things in order to maintain/ decrease the rate of my weight gain.

I warn you that this lifestyle is not healthy. You can get blood clots that lead to strokes, ulcers from the stress developed from the lifestyle, or muscle atrophy. I know this! But I do little things to keep me fit such as walking up the stairs, competing in competitions that have fitness tied with it, and I guess “thinking thin”. Now I don’t know why thinking thin helps you stay “fit”, but I think it has something to do with enforcing your body that small portions are enough to suffice your body. Ok, I am not a health expert, LOL. But anyways whatever you put in your body, just remember the final product comes out through you and how you will look in the world. And to be honest, it doesn’t matter how you look, but as long as you fit, that counts more towards your health and your life.
