Natural Made Comedian

I know for a fact that I am funny. My dad thinks he is funny. It is in our blood. Funniness runs in and out of our character, and I don’t remember a time when someone had ever come up to me and told me that I wasn’t funny. “Lol, why are you laughing?” I would ask. “It’s because everything that comes out of your mouth is funny”, they would say. “Thank you…?” I would say kind of weirded out but also complimented. When little girls were thinking about being pretty princesses, I was out trying to master the art of comedy in different mediums. From Bruce Lee in Jeet Kune Do, a hybrid martial art, to Mr.Bean in the Bean movie. Part of these influences came from my father, but I have no shame for old comedic mediums. I think all types of comedy are good, but I have some favorites. I love the storytelling type of comedy from Tom Cotter to Daliso Chaponda and his racial/ minority points that he juts into his comedy.

Problem? I have yet to find that woman comedic I would want to track through her life. I even liked Kevin Hart until I started to track his messages underlined in his comedy that discriminated against the LGBTQ+ community. But no women have stood out to me as the person to watch out for. Men may be prone to be historically funny because it takes them more time to mature than women. But no women who have made me “ugly laugh”.

Why don’t you just follow yourself? Well, I am kinda tied to myself for life… I make comedy accommodate my audience, and I do it on the spot. I haven’t yet mastered the generalization of comedy to large audiences. I did a few talent shows at Duke Tip and came out a hit, but as a middle school student during those times, my comedy is not going to be suited for adult audiences. If I am talking to my friends at school, my jokes are going to revolve around STEM ( yeah kinda sad XD). If I go to my internship, my jokes are going to revolve around things influencing my mentor’s life: children, spouse, money, and the job itself. If I go home, my dad tells the jokes, and they are not that good… like seriously not good… Please do not come to my house. I feel like my house would be the one place burglars try to avoid. It’s not worth it when my dad gets a chair for you to sit down and tries to start up a conversation when it is him just checking to make sure it is not too late to join the comedy gang. I am 17, so I have a while to go. Comedian or Surgeon…? I don’t know really, they both seem like good options. But I guess it will all be decided after college, eh? I’m just probably not going to be a pretty princess because I feel like I’ve always been missing the first part of the job XD.
